Maybe I am going too old school, but my favorite female MC was Sha-Rock. for those of you who don't know who she is she was down with the Funky Four she was the one more. Sha rock used to rock that mic in the park or clubs (freestyle). She was one of the few Female MC's during the birth of Rap/Hip-hop era. and believe me she was able to hang with the best of the male rappers at that time..

Yeah, HWA had a lot of ummmm... talent LOL. I remember their song "F*#% Me Baby".

You might be talking about Mia X she was with Master P for a while. She had a story about how she was in an abusive relationship and Master P took her under his wing.

Yeah I remember that about MC Trouble...from what I remember about the whole Boss thing, ya know she came out all hard like she was from the streets and she was this and that, and came to find out she went to damn prep school, and she was raised in the suburbs...she was in other words a "studio gangsta"...so I didn't like her no more. But I did like "Deep"...I don't really wanna feeeelll....

You know I like Bo$$ and I remember an old boyfriend of mine saying that her image was all a front. And when Bo$$ was interviewed I think on BET she said that she did that all for the money and everything about her image was fake. Well whoever she was pretending to be I liked it..

blu74 I have respect for all the artist that were named, but I still say Sha Rock back in the day. And the Funky Four wouldn't have been Funky with out Sha Rock..

I hear ya nycmckoy. The list of artists I named were just a few so that some people could get some ideas. Maybe if they saw a name they could recognize it and then remember a song.

The female rappers I named are not the only ones there are so much more. Even the underground female rappers that Soulsis named. I want people to talk and write about any female rapper they want not just the ones listed.

I am from Detroit and Bo$$ did go to a Catholic High School but she was a damn problem child. Thats how she got on in the rap game, she left Detroit and went to Cali with a friend of hers and was selling dope to survive out there, but she was rappin too and some people took her in and go her signed to Def Jam. if you listen to the intro of Born gangstaz that was her letting people know how she was raised but she just had issues. She is not a studio gangsta for sure. I can vouch 4 that. oh yeah she coming back out soon. She almost died and now that she is alive she is coming back wiyh a vengence.
