This is probably an easy one but I'm tired of searching through 30-second sound clips trying to locate it.
I'm trying to find the name of an instrumental song by Electric Light Orchestra. It's the one played on the classic
rock stations all the time and contains acoustic guitar and some choral singing.
Anyone know
this?
Thanks!

Vic is right, it has to be 'Fire On High' (1975) from the 'Face The Music' album.
It is definitely ELO's most popular instrumental track, and used to be used as a 'theme' for sports programs in the 70s and
80s.

Thanks Vic and Aaron. That was it. Its first 1.5 minutes were throwing me off, I never hear that part on the
radio.
My list of the best instrumental songs of the '70s is one song better now.
Thank you. .

Project .

I was also trying to identify this cut from ELO over the past few days and just found this discussion. Thanks for the identification. By the way: One more theme I've
heard used for sports was Steve Winwood's "If you see a chance, take it" which was used to intro one of the tripple crown horse races years back. They didn't include the lyric,
but instead just used the instrumental lead in, somehow stretched out to take up what seemed like forever..

wow... pretty cool. I don't suppose you can help me? There is an old famous instrumental. 60's i imagine. Very
slow, 3/4 time, and it's mainly a slide guitar playing a slow sweet melody... mid to very high notes... wish i could hum a few bars, it's in a lotta movies & stuff. It's
somewhere in the era i think of the Ventures? but it was a bad with 2 guys names maybe? I also think the title had multiple words in it... think of a hawaiin type setting...
anybody? thanks, dan .
