there is a song I heard on the oldies R&B station 102.3(DC) It's a ballad with the lyrics - " I found a girl,,, the sweetest girl in the whole world,,, I found a girl,,, and she's the best one in the whole world (ah, ah-ah, ah-ah) Loves the way she makes love to me, ooh baby, it's ecstacy" This is the phrase repeated throughout the song. I thought it was by an artist named Tony Fontaine, but when I researched him, I found out that he is a christian gospel singer! and I don't think this is the same guy, although, he is the only Tony Fontaine that appears on the search - SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!.

Hi,
The Tony Fontaine you're asking about could very well have sung the song you heard on the radio. He started out as a popular singer, then changed the spelling of his name to Fontane and became a gospel singer after a near-fatal car crash in 1957. Quite an interesting man. Check out the 'Biography' section of www.tonyfontane.net

Good luck!

Charles

Tony Fontaine started out as a classic type singer much along the same type as a Frank Sinatra.Sometime in his career not sure when he lost his voice. He promised Christ that if he gave him his voice back he would only sing Christian gospel music.I heard him at our churck in the early 60's.

Hello, I was in high school in the early 80's when I first heard the song 'I Found A Girl' by Toney Fontain. I was going through some of my old tape and I has a copy of your brother's song. I have my 20th year high school reunion coming up and I was wondering if or where I could get a copy of the song. Please advise.

Thank you,

Michael L Todd

Did anyone get a copy of Tony's song yet? I sent an email to his sister but have not heard from her yet. My friend is in love with that song and I'd love to get it for him. .
