I owned a tape (remember playing those in your walkman) of a group probably 1991 that sounded very much like the early group Troop. At the time I was also listening to Todayand Guy, stuff like that. This group was not very popular but I loved the album and can't for the life of me remember the name of the group, mostly slow jams. Just throw out obscure groups in this genre, may it will trigger something. THANKS!.

I always liked the group "Guy" which doesn't get any playtime at all anymore. Teddy Riley, who worked with Janet Jackson, worked with these guys too I believe. Check out "You Can Call Me Crazy" and "New Jack Swing" their two most popular songs..

By the way...I'm the queen of R&B a 80's music. a lot of bumpin' and grindin' in those days...remember when the debut Keith Sweat cd came out, "Make It Last Forever". Remember Soul II Soul (Keep on Movin & Back to Life); or CeCe Peniston (Kepp on Walkin' & Inside that I Cried); Tracy Specer (Tender Kisses & Love Me); B Angie B (Don't want to Lose your Love & So Much Love Here); Michele Le (No More Lies & Nicety); more to come....

Guy kind of tried to make a comeback right after Blackstreet split for the 2nd time (around 1999). THe group did have Teddy Riley in it, the single from their last album was called Dancin'.

oh yea TROOP they were slammin in the early 90s "Spread My Wings" ,All I Do Is Think Of You" are great brings back memorries. a very underrated group..

Troop to my knowledge did put out another album around 1998 or 1999. They actually had 5 albums I beleive. The last one we pretty good as well. They used to be my favorite group of the early 90's I knew every word to every song on the first two albums..

Does any body remember an R&B cat by the name of Big Pub. He had a group either in the late 80's or early 90's. I can't remember the name. There's a song i use to love that went like this " Girl I got my eyes on yoooou, baby." this chorus repeats itself. I wonder if that was Pubs group? Hit me back if you know..

I believe that song was sang by a group called 'Today', which was produced by Teddy Riley back in the Al B. Sure/ Wrekks in Effect days..

I think you're right. "Today" was the name of the group. The lead singer went solo, he went my the name of Big Pub. He's didn't go well. Thanks for your help. I going to see if they're selling the album on Amazon.com..

okay...this one is killing me! I can't remember the song title/artist, but the song went like this..."girl don't make me wait...(make love to me) 'cause my heart just might break (make love to me)...don't you dare take too long, (make love to me)...'cause tonight my love belongs to you." that was the chorus...and then in the song the guy says "I've been thinking about you all day long, and listening to our favorite song...(make love to me)" If you have any information about this song, please let me know!.
