Subject: Early to Mid 80's R & B Slow Jam

Subject: (Help me please!!!!!) Early to Mid 80's R & B Slow Jam Date: 06-17-2003
Author: Mario Nored Reply
Y'all gotta me out! Does anybody remember this slow jam from around 1984 to 1987 called...(I think) 'Come Over'. Its by 4 guys that had this video with them standing on some pillars just singing. The lead singer kind of sounds like a young Ralph Tresvant. It goes like "come over. come over, babeee. (background singers 'come over"). I think that their name was 4 Square, but I think I'm wrong. Help me out, please! I've been looking for this song for a few years.

Oh my God!! I thought that song had to be in a dream. I've been looking for that song since I was like 16 or so. I think their names were 4 square or 4 something. I'll start looking, and if I find something I'll be sure to let you know. .

Monie and Mario, I think the song you're looking for is 'Come Over' and the group was '4 by 4'. They had an album out in 1987 on Capitol..

Hot Damn!! I think that's it. I never got to hear the whole song. My friend had a piece recorded from the radio *lol*. My brother had the album, and all I ever got to see was the cover. Lord knows what happened to it after that. Thank you so much. Now I can try and find it..

The song is called "No"

"It would have to happen on a day like today, girl that you say that you're going away. It would have to happen at a moment like this, girl I need you." is the chorus. Who is the real group?

You did a wonderful job in finding the group 4 by 4, I wonder if you can find out info on this group.

BTW, I have a great digital copy of this song if anyone is still looking for it. 4 by 4 was a childhood mystery of mine as well, and I thank god for audiogalaxy when it was alive for reviving this song for me.

Does anyone know what version of "Yo, Baby Yo!" Ralph Tresvant sings in "House Part 2" is it a remix cause the only one I can find is the version dat plays throughout the whole film. The version that is played where his actually performing is rather different and sounds like a really good RnB mix..
