I'm no expert, but come on - this is not quite a one-hit wonder. Um, "All Right Now?"

It can be said of many one-hit wonders that if you listened to their albums you'd find gems. Well, yeah; some of us only had transistor radios, and depending on the coolness of our friends often had no conception of the album stuff. (For all many people knew, Derek & the Dominoes would be simply a one-hit wonder!) Anyway my point is that that particular Free album - "Fire And Water" - is pretty durn strong.

Also, FWIW, from that album Atlanta FM gave "Don't Say You Love Me" a bit of airplay run. Not a "hit" but not nothing.

Well, f- me! I left out the name of the other actual hit. It was the song "Fire and Water" itself..

One more note FWIW - allmusic says "...the original lineup of Free re-formed to record 1972's Free at Last, which launched the hit "Little Bit of Love." " I know - it's just their opinion, and they don't _always_ get it exactly right :).

They had several hits. The ones mentioned here as well as: "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" and "Ready for Love". Ooops...that was Bad Company. Same guys tho..

Just to clarify - Free only had one Billboard Top 40 Hit 'All Right Now' (peaked at #4), which is why they're on the list - but they had three other UK hits 'Little Bit of Love', 'Wishing Well' and 'My Brother Jake'. Two members of Free (vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke) ended up in Bad Company who had six Billboard hits - 'Can't Get Enough', 'Feel Like Makin' Love', 'Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy', 'Youngblood', 'Movin' On' and 'Good Lovin' Gone Bad'..

Does anyone know I'm sure you do that there are two different versions of All Right Now.The version that got to US#4 is the 45 RPM single version it"s about 3 minutes and is a little quicker in tempo. The version that is everywhere world wide is the album cut version. Why did bands record single versions and then album versions? I don"t see the point. Wouldn"t you have hate to be a 13 year old boy in 1970 and hear the smash Free song All Right Now on 93 KHJ ride your bike to the nearest 1970 record shop and the record clerk sells you The Free album, you get home turn on the old hi-fi and say what the hell is this ? . Many poor souls were shafted like this. But in this one case. The boy should sit back and turn it up,he lucked out,and The Free album cut version remains no one even plays the 45 version anymore. The same with Green-Eyed Lady..
