Yeah man! That was a JAM at the rink. I remember doing the train when that came on, like 20 people all in a line going backwards holding hands! C'mon Soulsis, get your criss-cross and your sidewinder on.....
In the 50's they use to play organ music at the roller rinks. Does anyone know where to get these songs. I now rollerblade and I would like to listen to these old skating tunes. Thanks! Tom, Sarasota FL.
Help! I totally can't find this song - they used to play it at the beginning of every session. Don't know the name or who sings it but the main lyrics were "Down at the roller rink". I've looked everywhere and can't figure out the name of the song. Thought it was, duh, "Down at the Roller Rink" but I can't find that anywhere.
Here's my list of songs that when I hear I immediately think of roller skating:
Last Night a DJ Saved My Life She's a Bad Mama Jama Super Freak Love Come Down Forget Me Nots Mama Used to Say AEIOU (and sometimes Y) Portugese Love (for "couples skate").
