Dan I've seen The White Stripes live twice and The Strokes once. I think they're both great, but I think the Stripes have the edge because White is such an extraordinary guitarist. Would also like to see The Hives some time..

"Little fish big fish" is not a song by PJ Harvey. However, Down By The Water is. Good tune~.

There used to be an independent alternative radio station in the Twin Cities in the mid 90's called REV 105. They had the best songs. Just to name a few... "Curlylocks" by Babyfox "Little Bastard" by Ass
Ponys "Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt" by DJ Shadow "Boy Or A Girl" by Imperial Drag "High" Jimmie's Chicken Shack
PS
+The Great Divide+, the first album by Semisonic, is MUCH better than +Feeling Strangely Fine+ and their so-so breakthrough hit "Closing Time." Check it out.

I'm going crazy trying to remember this one song. I think the second part of one of the verses is "...But then I feel nothing..." The word nothing is stretched out a little at the end. It starts off slow and then speeds up as it gets into the song. I can hum the beat really well, but unfortunately thats about all I can do. This
isn't much to go on, but if anyone has any idea's on what song this is it would be great to hear from you. Thanks.

Speaking of Fountains of Wayne, there was also "Radiation Vibe"...this was a hit long before "Stacy's Mom" and the teenie bop following.

Some of my personal favs for public consumption... (I figured I went on a nostalgic music binge because of this thread so I might as well contribute...)
Belly- Feed the Tree, 311- Beautiful Disaster, 10000 Maniacs- Eat for
Two/Hey Jack Kerouac, Tracy Bonham- Cellophane, Candlebox- Far Behind, Ani Difranco- 31 Flavors, Dishwalla- Counting Blue Cars, Everclear- Watch the World Die, Failure- Soluble Words, Green Day- She, Soundgarden- Spoonman, Jars of Clay- Flood, Mighty Mighty Bosstones- The Impression that I get, Len- Steal my Sunshine, NIN- Terrible Lie, Machines of Loving Grace- (Butterfly Wings?), Ugly Kid Joe-
I Hate Everything About you, Nina Stordstrom- Little Star, Fun Loving Criminals- Scooby Snacks, Bloodhound Gang- Tricky.
Also more general bands- Bjork, Blessed Union of Souls, Radiohead, Veruca Salt, Elastica,Eve 6 (think that was 90's), Garbage, Primus, Seven Dust, Tonic,
Tool.
What i've been trying to remember is the name of the band or the song for a single that got a LOT of radioplay in Chicago right around the time that Sarah McLaughlin released Building a Mystery and they played it into the dirt. The chorus was something about little sister, dancing on
the stage, something about I'll never forget you. The memory is getting quite foggy at this point. Any ideas?.

The song you are thinking of is "Feel The Pain" by dinosaur jr. " I feel the pain of everyone....then I feel nothing......".
