Actually it was "runaway train" by Soul Asylum, not misery. I guess Dave Pirner in an interview stated that the original intent of the song was not to be about runaways (I honestly don't know what else it would be) but when someone suggested it for the video he just went with it..

I got nothing Janine but I'm really trying to help you out.
Let's see if we can narrow it down a bit. Love song - ok - real slow then? The video. What did he look like, hair color and style, age? Do you know if it was a group? Were they in the video? You got a year approximately on it? Do you remember any any any lyrics - especially strings of lyrics? How did the beat go?

Maybe your answers to these important questions will solve the roof guy video mystery. :>

for boo boo in my earlier posts i explained all that but i will again I am very greatful. ok it is a very slow song and the guy has a really draggy voice. the guy I think looks like the guy from the remnants like he had glasses or a goatee. I know I should rem that but I don't i know that it's a bright video like len's steal my sunshine, or black whole sun without all the weird effects. I know there is an older car like a monte carlo driving in the video. I think he may say something like she's sixteen and has her license or she's sixteen and she ...... I dunno but I honestly havent heard it since it came out which was spring-early summer of 1995. if someone could find this song I would thank you forever. I have spent alot of nights just watching videos on yahoo launch from that time (which they probably not have it) cause it wasn't popular but if you rem the box, music you control it played on there around the same time as I kissed a girl by that jill sobule.
thanks a million
janine
ps sorry so long

No it's definately not the cranberries. That's 'ode to my family' by the cranberries that you're thinking of. I tried to make the dos the length of the note in other words doo would be held longer than do. It's not the rentals (although thanks for reminding me of another great song from the 90's that I had forgotten about) Its a female vocalist and the song is laid back kind of mazzy star-ish. do do doo doo do do doo doo do do do dododoo. .

Matt, I already posted this but in case you didn't see - it seems like it could be Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner. She kind of talk/sings through the song.

D d doo doo, d-d-doo doo,
d d doo doo, d-d-doo doo

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee

I will be forever indebted to anyone who can identify this song..I had the casette at some point but...
the title is "I'm not sorry", female singer, need to know the band. She sings about not being sorry for not being what the guy wnated her to be. lyrics like "you want it easy, well get a dog then, you can't take much can you baby, well I'm not sorry" and "follow all the rules, even-tempered and cool, keep it under my hat, well I can't do that". I can remember a few more if needed.

hmm..answered my own question, the memory kicked in and I remembered the word "Golden". It was the Golden Palominos, an album called "This is how it feels" totally dreamy, moody music from the early nineties, and of course "I'm not sorry" was my anthem!.

I hope you're right. Seems like you've been searching forever. :> Anyway, saw some lyrics to soul coughing songs. (the kings of repeat) Don't know videos but they have a song called "horses" -

14,000 times a second
The speaker moons
Magnitism pushes
the impulse through
But I can't keep that speed
I can't generate that frequency
What the sound pressure level means
Wants to randomize electrons--I can't read
And you're still not dancing
She came pushing sixteen
She came pushing sixteen horses
I saw her and thought of her and thought of her
And I thought I heard a doorbell tone
And I thought I saw thought I saw and thought I saw
You watching from the lawn
She went over bridges like the river was a dream dream
Over bridges like the river was a dream dream
She came pushing sixteen
She came pushing sixteen horses
Two rings two rings two rings clamp down
Quit it
Two rings two rings two rings clamp down
Quit it
Two rings two rings two rings clamp down
Quit it
Two rings two rings two rings clamp down
Quit it
She came pushing sixteen
She came pushing sixteen
She came pushing sixteen
She came pushing sixteen horses

The also have a song called "Janine"

There is a group called The Sundays. Really chill music. There two biggest hits were "Here's where the story ends" and "Wild Horses" a remake of the classic Rolling stones song. If you like those songs, check out Mazzy Star's "Fade into Me." Maybe I helped?.
