Gary Glitter Biography
In 1972, Paul Gadd finally found the winning formula with glam rock king,
Gary Glitter. Glitter sported extravagant makeup, silver outfits and high
boots.

Glitter and producer Michael Leander created records that weren't intended
to be serious music, offering squealing guitar, loud drum beat,
instrumental hook, and an unending chorus of "hey!" Glitter's debut single,
entitled "Rock and Roll, Part II," was a smash hit in the U.S. and U.K.
Though Glitter didn't score another hit in America, he was a superstar in
Britain throughout the mid-1970's, with three number one singles.
