The Buoys emerged in the early 1970's. Members of the band included Billy Kelly (lead vocals), Gerry Hludzik (bass), Chris Hanlon (drums), Fran Bozena (keyboards), and Carl Siracuse (guitar). The
band's hit "Timothy," written by Rupert Holmes, reached the Top 20.
The band's vigor subsided, however, with the release of "Bloodknot" and "Give Up Your Guns." Though the Buoys disbanded in the middle of the 1970's, Gerry Hludzik and Billy Kelly reemerged in the band Dakota.
