Desmond Dekker and the Aces Biography
|
| Desmond Dekker was the first Jamaican artist to record an international top ten hit with "Israelites." The song enabled Dekker to emerge from a low point in his career, when it was used in a Maxell
Tapes commercial in 1990. "Israelites" was a top ten hit in the United States, and reached the number one slot in the charts in Jamaica, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada, Holland, Sweden and West Germany. |
