During the 1960’s, New York-based Bobby
Bloom began his career as one of several entrepreneurs including Anders and Poncia, Artie Ripp and Levine/Resnick.
Bloom also made several solo recordings,
including “Love Don’t Let Me Down” and “Coast on Me.” He later developed a
partnership with composer/producer Jeff Barry. Bloom’s singing career reached its peak, however, with “Montego Bay,” which reached the Top 10 in the United States
and the Top 3 in the United Kingdom.
Bloom died in an accidental shooting in
1971.
