|
David Johansen performed under the fictitious name Buster Poindexter.
He adopted the name for a nightclub singer act. Johansen appeared in a tux at the New York club Tramps with a band called the Banshees of Blue.
He sang pop standards, jump blues and novelty material, resulting in recognition and a subsequent record contract with RCA. His songs included "Hot, Hot, Hot." Although Johansen still assumes his Buster Poindexter persona, he has more recently pursued an acting career. | ||
